Which devices
can I use to connect to the SFR WiFi Service?
To access wireless broadband Internet services in a place covered by the SFR
WiFi Service, I need a laptop computer or a PDA fitted with a WiFi network card
(e.g. Netgear®, D link®, etc) or a WiFi module built into my terminal (e.g. Centrino®).
Whether my WiFi modem is external (network card) or built-in, it must be compatible
with IEEE standard 802.11b/g (IEEE: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Which configurations are supported
by the SFR WiFi Service?
The SFR WiFi Service is optimised for laptops operating under Windows® 2000 and
Windows® XP using Internet Explorer 4.0 or above or Netscape 4.0 or above.
Can I use my
Apple® computer?
Yes, if my Apple® computer is fitted with a WiFi card or built-in modem compatible
with IEEE standard 802.11b/g.
Note: you must be able to use all WiFi distribution channels for certain French networks.
If you have problems connecting in certain hotspots, please contact your Apple®
support service.
Where can I
buy a WiFi network card for my laptop?
If my computer belongs to a company, I should contact the office applications
department to find out which cards are validated for my company's computers.
WiFi network cards are available from IT retailers. When you purchase your WiFi
network card, check with the shop that it is compatible with IEEE standard 802.11b/g
(IEEE: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
